Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative DSNI) The Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) is a nonprofit community-based planning and organizing entity based in the Roxbury/North Dorchester area of Boston. DSNI's approach to neighborhood revitalization is comprehensive (physical, environmental, economic and human). It was formed in 1984 when residents of the Dudley Street area came together out of fear and anger to revive their neighborhood that was nearly devastated by arson, disinvestment, neglect and redlining practices, and protect it from outside speculators. DSNI is the only community-based nonprofit in the country which has been granted eminent domain authority over abandoned land within its boundaries. The Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative has grown into a collaborative effort of over 2,700 resident members, businesses, non-profits and religious institutions concerned with revitalizing this culturally diverse neighborhood of 24,000 people and maintaining its character and affordability. Madison Park Development Corporation Founded in 1966, MPDC has evolved into a permanent institution providing the framework for holistic community revitalization and re-development in Roxbury. MPDC is one of the first community-based, non-profit organizations to independently develop affordable housing for low- to moderate-income residents. Over its thirty-nine year plus history, MPDC has been hailed as a model for resident-led community development. Madison Park Development Corporation's mission is to foster the social, physical, economic, and cultural renaissance of the Roxbury community by promoting the economic self-sufficiency and social well-being of low-income and moderate-income residents and advocating for an equitable share of private and public resources. Nuestra Comunidad Community Development Corporation Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation is devoted to building the wealth and enhancing the physical, economic and social well-being of Roxbury, through a community driven process which promotes self-sufficiency and neighborhood revitalization. Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation (Nuestra) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development organization, which was founded in 1981 by residents of the Dudley neighborhood to take control of the land, build new housing, and leverage their combined energies for a better future.Maloney Properties Maloney Properties, Inc., is a full service property management firm providing a broad range of services to more than 7,000 residential housing units. The firm manages the Smith House and Haynes House in Madison park Village. MassVOTE MassVOTE is a statewide non-partisan, non-profit organization. We are dedicated to increasing voter participation and promoting election reform in Massachusetts. MassVOTE seeks to create a healthy and participatory democracy open to all.
